About us
Scellec Teca is a company dedicated to the cultivation of teak (Tectona grandis) through responsible and sustainable forest management practices. The company establishes teak plantations on grasslands previously used for livestock farming, with the objective of maximising both environmental and economic benefits.
In parallel, Scellec Teca is committed to enhancing biodiversity across its properties. Unplanted areas are actively managed to promote ecological restoration, and native forest conservation zones are maintained to protect and support local ecosystems. The company acquires full ownership of grazing land to ensure long-term stewardship and optimal management of teak plantations.
Scellec Teca was established to identify, manage, and de-risk a compelling investment opportunity in Colombia’s teak sector. Teak is a highly sought-after tropical hardwood known for its durability, stability, and consistently strong global market demand, making it a relatively low-risk forestry investment.
To deliver this strategy, Scellec Teca has assembled a team of highly regarded specialists in teak forestry management. This team includes experienced Colombian forest operators as well as Scellec Caribe SAS, the Colombian subsidiary of Scellec Teca Limited, which has developed in-depth expertise in successfully implementing the company’s investment and plantation management strategy.
All Scellec Teca plantations are managed in accordance with the highest standards of sustainable forestry and adhere to internationally recognised best practices in responsible forest management.
Scellec Teca offers institutional investors and family offices the opportunity to participate in a sustainable investment capable of delivering attractive alpha returns.
Our management team brings together more than a century of combined experience in international forest land management and value creation.
Our philosophy is grounded in a deep understanding of Colombia’s rural environment and is guided by a simple principle: the health, safety, and well-being of our workers are essential to building strong relationships with local communities. These relationships enable us to generate positive social impact while fostering best practices in plantation management, producing high-quality timber, and achieving long-term commercial success.
Scellec Teca is committed to best practices across the entire value chain. Our objective is to deliver excellence to a premium market segment and to establish a reputation synonymous with quality, reliability, transparency, sustainability, and responsibility.
Our vision is to create a Centre of Excellence for Teak in the Colombian Caribbean region.
We will achieve this by producing and processing premium, certified teak, which will generate above-average returns for our investors while removing CO₂ from the atmosphere through carbon sequestration. This approach delivers meaningful environmental benefits and contributes positively to the communities where we are located.
Why invest in Scellec Teca?
