About

Scellec Teca

Scellec Teca is involved in planting teak (Tectona grandis) in a manner that is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) on non-forest sites (often on open grazing areas or fallow land or what were cattle lands left unmanaged) in such a way that internal and external environmental benefits are maximised. At the same time, the company ensures the enhancement of biodiversity on the non-planted areas of all its properties. It acquires freehold grassland to plant teak.

The company was established to de-risk and manage the clear investment opportunity that exists in Colombia to plant teak, a highly sought-after, low-risk tropical high-grade hardwood with a consistently strong market demand.

We have assembled a team of recognised Teak forestry management specialists including Colombian forestry contract operators in addition to Scellec Caribe SAS (Colombian subsidiary of Scellec Teca Limited) having developed its own competence to implement the investment strategy successfully.

Scellec Teca plantations are developed using sustainable forest management techniques and adhering to international standards.

Scellec Teca offers Institutional and Family Office investors a sustainable investment to be proud of and with alpha returns.

Our management team has over a century in combined years of experience in international forestland management and value creation.

Our philosophy has been shaped by a deep understanding of working in rural Colombia and is simple; our workers health, safety and happiness are paramount to having quality community relationships and a positive social impact, which in turn helps drive best practice, tree quality and commercial success.

Scellec Teca aligns its best practices throughout its value chain. We aim to deliver excellence to a premium market segment and to be synonymous with quality, reliability, transparency and responsibility.

Our mission is to create a Teak centre of excellence in the Caribbean region of Colombia.

We will do this by producing and processing world-class FSC certified Teak which will provide an above average ROI for our investors while removing CO2 through sequestration, having a positive impact on the environment and benefiting the communities in which we work.
